Patience of Time: Lavender and Its Cycle

One sunny morning, Crumbelina is walking through a meadow in the Magical Forest of Balance when she sees a patch full of purple flowers — lavender. Their scent enchants her immediately, so she sits closer to take a better look. “How beautiful!” she says and reaches out, but Lovella, who is flying beside her, gently stops her. “Wait, Crumbelina. Everything has its time — even lavender needs to ripen to give its best.”
Crumbelina thinks: “What does that mean? Can’t I pick it now?” Lovella smiles and explains: “Lavender grows slowly. First, it pushes out green leaves, then it blooms, and only when its flowers are full of fragrance and color — usually in summer at midday when even the top blossoms bloom — it’s time to harvest. If we take it too soon, it loses its strength. And the same goes for us — everything we do needs its own time to ripen.”
Crumbelina nods and watches as the bees buzz busily around the flowers, waiting for the right moment.

After a while, the Forest Fairy Harmony joins them. “You see, Crumbelina,” she says with a gentle flutter of her wings, “people are like lavender too. When you rush, you can lose the joy of growing. Patience shows us when it’s time to plant, to nurture, and to harvest — whether it’s about friendship, learning, or a dream.”
Crumbelina thinks about her own dreams and asks: “So I should wait until I’m ready?” The fairy nods: “Yes, and while you wait, take care of yourself, just like we care for lavender — with love and patience.”
Crumbelina decides to spend the day with the lavender. Every morning she checks the flowers, waters them, and watches how they change. When the time for harvest finally comes, she feels proud — the flowers are full of fragrance and ready. Together with Lovella, she gathers a few sprigs, thanking nature for the gift. “Now I know,” says Crumbelina, “that time is precious — if I trust it, everything ripens on its own.”
In the end, she sits by the Friendship Stone and breathes in the lavender’s scent. The Forest Fairy Harmony whispers to her: “Remember, time is your ally. Everything you need will come when it’s ready — in nature and in you.”

Mindful tasks for kids:
- Go outside and observe a plant — try to guess when it’s ready for harvest (flowers, fruits, etc.).
- Draw the lavender cycle: from seed to flower — add colors!
- Try to wait for something small (like playing with a friend) and enjoy the moment when it comes.
- Close your eyes, breathe slowly and think: What inside me is still “ripening”?
A short poem to end:
“Lavender waits until its time comes,
its scent a gift when summer hums.
Patience I teach, in heart and hand,
everything has time — like dreams that expand.”
🌸 A tip for you:
Ask your parents to make lavender syrup — it will hold the scent of summer, sunshine, and calm.
And dry a little lavender for tea or a fragrant sachet — it will bring you sweet, peaceful dreams. 💜🌙
